
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State-run Kerala University Monday announced up to 6 months of maternity leave to woman students over 18, weeks after the state government informed that institutes of higher education in the state could cap the required attendance for women at 73% to account for menstrual leave.A student who goes on maternity leave for approximately 6 months can resume classes without having to take admission once again, the university distribute decided.The syndicate said the onus would be on the principals of colleges to verify the medical records of prospects and permit them to rejoin college without having to look for the universitys approval.The university has actually already reduced the minimum needed participation from 75% to 73% for girl students.
