Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, met with the US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin this week during a visit to the country and discussed various issues including the issue of regional security.Sources familiar with the details of the meeting said matters related to regional peace, bilateral defense cooperation and terrorism came under discussion.
The two officials also discussed terror attacks in Pakistan which Islamabad claims originate from Afghanistan soil.Munir's visit to the US comes after the United States& Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, recently wrapped up his two-day visit to Pakistan where he held talks with top civil and military leaders on the security threat posed by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).The post Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff meets with US Defense Secretary first appeared on Ariana News.
