President Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the entire federal government needs to function as one mechanism, presenting new approaches to solve issues and towards normalizing the nation by end of 2023.

The President made these remarks while attending to the staff of the Presidents Office who commenced responsibilities of the New Year 2023 at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo today (Jan.

02), the Presidents Media Division reported.President Ranil Wickremesinghe also stated that no one can shirk their responsibilities for the nation in the year 2023, which is a crucial year for the Sri Lankan economy, and invited all public servants to devote themselves towards making Sri Lanka a flourishing nation in the New Year.President Wickremesinghe has raised the National Flag marking the commencement of duties in the New Year, and all employee of the Presidential Secretariat took the general public service promise together, according to the PMD.Thereafter, the President joined the employee for a tea ceremony, and he also extended his best dreams to the staff for the New Year.President Ranil Wickremesinghe further stated, I want you all a delighted and flourishing New Year.

Five and a half months earlier, we took over a historical job at this workplace.

Throughout those 5 and a half months, we took steps to develop normalcy in the nation at a time when the government had collapsed and the economy had also collapsed.

However, not all our economic problems are over yet.

Today we have the capability to supply fuel, gas, foodstuff and fertilizer as needed.

I must initially extend my thankfulness to all those who helped us during these five and a half months.

Nevertheless, our job is not over yet.

The most important year is 2023.

We have to move on by carrying out the debt-restructuring program and freeing our nation from the financial obligation burden.

Moreover, we have to develop an economy that can compete with the brand-new world.

It is from these institutions that these activities will be brought out.Each persons tasks can not be restricted to 08 hours a day and 05 days a week.

Lets all work with commitment.

By the end of 2023, I intend to take this country forward with the assistance of all of you and restore normalcy.
