BHUBANESWAR: In a bizarre incident on Tuesday at the Mens Hockey World Cup, the Japan team had 12 players on the pitch during a charge corner set-piece in the passing away moments of their Pool B match versus South Korea, which ended in a 2-1 win for the Koreans.Had Japan scored off their last penalty corner, the match might have ended in a 2-2 draw with unfair benefit of an additional Japanese gamer on the pitch.The International Hockey Federation (FIH) released a statement on the issue, saying they are currently examining the incident.Japan had withdrawn their goalkeeper in the last two minutes for an extra guy in advance, but still the number went beyond the regulative 11 players on each side.

After the match, the FIH Officials-- who have not identified this circumstance at the minute-- have actually talked to the Japanese group who have actually described that they had not realised this at all and expressed their most genuine apologies, the FIH said.

The FIH Officials have also explained the matter to the Korean team and the federation is currently examining the concern to establish how it occurred.

The win gave the Koreans their first win of the World Cup.

Japan, however, stay winless after two matches.

The other 2 teams of Pool B, Belgium and Germany, played a thrilling 2-2 draw on Tuesday to conclude the days fixtures.Belgium lead Pool B on goal distinction, but level with Germany at 4 points from two matches.
