Her proximity to Salman Khan often creates headlines about their impending marriage plans but Iulia Vantur says the relationship between two people is not made in the newspapers.

Khan and the Romanian beauty have long been speculated to be in a relationship but both have chosen to stay mum.

To a question of whether marriage reports with Khan get annoying, she says “of course”.

You have to focus on your real life and not what is written in the newspapers because you know very well most of them are rumours and not true. I want to make my life positive and not let the negativity seep in,” Vantur says in an interview.

The 37-year-old TV host-singer, however, says rumours don’t affect her equation with Khan.

Why should a title in a newspaper change someone’s equation? The relationship between two people is based on trust, love and understanding. I don’t think some titles can affect any relationship. The relationship between two people is not made in a newspaper, it’s made in real life,” she says.

What bothers her more is that the link-up rumours affect her parents back home.

Vantur also rubbishes stories of her not sharing a warm equation with Khan’s co-star Katrina Kaif.

We (Katrina and I) spoke so many times. I think she has done a fabulous job in Tiger Zinda Hai, the stunts and everything. She’s done an amazing work. We have nothing to (fight about). She’s a lovely girl,” she says.

Vantur is now looking forward to how the audiences respond to her latest single, Harjai, which marks the debut of actor-host Maniesh Paul as a singer.

'Screen timing does not matter to me'

Sonam Kapoor, who plays a pivotal role in the Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan, says if the character is substantial, she does not mind playing a small yet important role in a movie.

It was the same case in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

After her performance in Neerja which not only received positive reviews, but also got Sonam a special mention at the National Awards, has her criteria for choosing a film changed?

Sonam says, "It is the combination of the story and my character; screen timing does not matter to me, honestly. One does not have to be in every single frame of the film to create an impact of the character. If my part is well-crafted, even with three scenes, my character can make a major impact on the story. And that's what matters.

Sonam says she is primarily interested in working with good directors because filmmaking is a collaborative art where working with the right team brings the best of every creative individual.

So, who are the director she wants to work with?

There are actually few directors that I would love to work with again, like R. Balki, Rajkumar Hirani, Ram Madhvani. I loved working with them. That apart, I want to work with Shoojit Sircar, Vishal Bhardwaj and Shimit Amin among others," she said.

Despite her film choices, the tag of 'fashionista' never goes away from her image. But she says she will always remain unapologetic about it.

I love wearing make-up and beautiful clothes. I think there is nothing wrong with it. If someone judges me based on that, it is his problem not mine.

Seriously, I think when it comes to films, in last few of them, all my directors wanted me not to wear make-up because they think I have very good skin. That is why the no make-up looks. However, I do things in real life that I cannot get a chance to do on-screen. So yes, in public events, parties I flaunt good clothes," said the actor, who has featured in movies like Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

While Sonam's forthcoming release is PadMan, hitting the screens on January 25, later in the year she will be seen in Veere Di Wedding, which will come out on June 1.

Rapes are part of society: Top cop

In a petrifying incident, Haryana Police on Saturday recovered the mutilated body of a 15-year-old Dalit girl who was reported missing from Kurukshetra on January 9.

The girl was a Class 10 student from Jhansa village of Kurukshetra.

Police said that the victim was subjected to brutality, torture and gangraped by the criminals.

The main suspect in the rape and murder of the 15-year-old Dalit girl was a Class 12 student who has been found dead in Kurukshetra, Haryana.

RC Mishra, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Ambala Range, on suspected accused said, "We are investigating and scanning all CCTV cameras in the area. All people related to the case are being interrogated. After we receive FSL report, we can make a further comment.

In a disappointing and irresponsible relay of information, ADGP Mishra said, 'Rapes are part of society.

Half naked body of a girl reported missing from Kurukshetra has been recovered from Rajwaha, near Budhakheda village. We have registered a case against the unidentified persons and the investigation is on," SSP Arun Kumar said earlier.

The Dalit girl who was gangraped belonged to Jind district. Efforts were made to get rid of her body by throwing it into a canal.

The victim's private parts were also attacked and mutilated with a pointed weapon.

The victim was raped by more than one person and a pointed object was inserted inside her private part. There are multiple injuries on her body," head of Forensic Science Department, Dr SK Dhattarwal said.

She had left home for tuition on January 9. A police complaint was made in Jhansa Police Station by the girl's father.

The opposition Congress today demanded the dismissal of the ML Khattar government in Haryana, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in the state after two minor Dalit girls were allegedly raped and murdered in separate incidents.

A Congress delegation, led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, submitted a memorandum to the Governor today and sought the imposition of Presidents Rule in the state.

The Congress leaders expressed deep concern over the recent incidents of rape-and-murder and "rising crime graph" in the state.

In the memorandum, the Congress alleged that the citizens are feeling insecure.

Law and order has collapsed in the state and criminals have neither fear of government nor law. This government is directionless and has failed to ensure safety and security of its citizens. A progressive state is fast turning into crime hub," according to the memorandum.

It further said, "many gangsters from UP are now turning to Haryana considering it as safe zone.

Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that on an average, a rape and a murder happen in Haryana every eight hours.

I think it is time that crime prevention and crime control is taken seriously by the chief minister, who is also the Home Minister of the state," he said.

It is an issue about the safety of the girl child and women. People in Delhi are as much affected by the growing crime incidents in Haryana as anywhere else, so I think Government of India should also take stock of this deteriorating situation and call the chief minister and reprimand him, if necessary," Surjewala said.
