The 30th edition of the event took place on Saturday, with the chief guest being the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak where Pathak expressed his happiness in honoring individuals involved in arts, journalism, and social campaigns.Lama has received the award for his significant contributions to the healthcare sector in Northern Gorkha, where he has been actively involved in organizing free health camps and establishing birthing centers.Lama was born in a remote village of Chhekampar in Chumnubri Rural Municipality, Gorkha.

He is the third oldest of his six siblings. He went on to become a paramedic.

His service extended to medical camps, rescue missions, and emergency supply missions, benefiting countless rural communities in Nepal.

Lama's educational and spiritual upbringing in a monastery in Kathmandu since 1997, encompassing free food, accommodations, and medical care, shaped his commitment to serving others in line with his guru's teachings.His commitment materialized in the founding of the Kyimolung Foundation Nepal, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, healthcare services, food security, and disaster assistance.

The foundation, to date, has positively impacted over 80,000 individuals.Reflecting on his philosophy, Lama, as a humble Buddhist monk, emphasizes the importance of kindness as a virtue fundamental to effective leadership, particularly in the realm of social work and running a non-profit organization.The UPAA Awards ceremony witnessed the participation of prominent personalities from diverse fields, including Bollywood artists, social activists, educators, journalists, and athletes.

Notably, previous recipients of the APAA Awards include Bollywood legends Samir Anjan and Farukh Sheikh, renowned artists Anil Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Bhagyashree, Rahul Roy, and directors Abbas Mustan, along with cricketer Piyush Chawla, as highlighted by the President of the Academy, Wakim Khan. .
