SAPTARI, AUGUST 14Water current has been measured the highest level in the Saptakoshi River in Sunsari this year. Informing that a red light has been issued to mark danger in the barrage, he said water current was measured 462,000 cu sec in the river at 4.00 am this morning.However, water current is on the fall now.

In 1989, the Saptakoshi River had witnessed measurement of 472,000 cu sec water current.

This morning too, 462,000 cu sec was measured.The Koshi saw such a higher level of water current after 34 years.

Local administration has urged the residents near the river basins to adopt safety measures with the rise in the water current in the Saptakoshi. .
