RANCHI: A 22-year-old student of the Indian Institute of Management-Ranchi was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan inside his hostel space, with his hands supposedly tied.Shivam Kumar Pandey, coming from Varanasi, was in term VI, pursuing service analytics.

A murder case was registered on Tuesday as the family believed foul play.As per preliminary details, Shivams friends discovered his space locked from inside on Monday night.

They knocked at the door, but got no action.

They informed the guard, who peeped inside from the ventilator and saw him hanging.Shivams dad Akhileshwar Prasad Pandey, who reached Ranchi on Tuesday, said he was notified around 11.30 pm on Monday that his kid had actually passed away by suicide.

He, nevertheless, raised suspicions on the death and said images showed his kids hands were connected and legs were on the floor.

He also questioned why the body was taken down in the absence of authorities and video recording.
