KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26The mountainous region of Taplejung district has been blanketed with snow.
According to locals, the important shrine in Taplejung, Pathivara, witnessed snowfall on Friday.

Rajendra Mahato, an employee at the Pathivara Area Development Committee, informed that it was the third time the Pathivara area recorded snow.Similarly, Tashi Sherpa from Ghunsa reported that Ghunsa, Phale, Olangchunggola, Yangla, and other upper areas experienced snowfall.
Yangla, situated at the highest altitude of 4,200 meters in the district, also received snow.
Likewise, the border areas of Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum districts such as Tinjure, Milke, and Jaljale also encountered snowfall.
Although the snowfall brought brutal cold, farmers expressed relief that the winter crops would thrive.
